here comes santa clause

So tonight was the church Christmas party and guess who was there!? That's right- SANTA. Because Santa is a Christian and he visits church parties. DUH! Eli was excited of course to get to sit on Santa's lap so I snapped a few photos as any good mother would so we could remember this momentus day.
(by the way, there was absolutely no crying involved)
Here's Eli practicing his smile for santa.
Eli's big moment on santa's lap.

Proud mommy & daddy.

Tired after all that smiling at church.

face workout

After Eli's nap yesterday he decided to make all kinds of weird faces while blowing bubbles. It was totally hilarious!

Joy

This is the joy I get to see when Eli wakes up from a nap. What a blessing it is to be home to see this! I love you Matt and thank you for making this possible.

no room joseph

This weekend at church was the Live Nativity. Last night I was an angel and tonight Matt was 'Joseph at the Inn'. Here he is pictured with a very pregnant Mary (aka Patty) and here I am with the Innkeeper who turned them away (aka William, Patty's husband). So for those of you who followed that logic, the Innkeeper and Mary are married in real life and Matt was the Joseph. Well, we thought it was funny.

hold my head up forever mom!

I would just like everyone to know that this is why my child STILL cannot hold his head up on his own. He would rather sit with his head back than try to use his neck muscles. Hmmm....already taking the easy way out........
(just for the record- he CAN do it on his own, he just won't)

O Christmas Tree

Some of my fondest childhood holiday memories are going to pick out our Christmas tree at the Christmas tree farm in Cave City. I love getting a real tree at Christmas. Since we've lived in Cookeville, Matt & I have gone to this same family farm to get our tree. This year, we got to bring Eli for his first tree hunting adventure. And to make it even more special, my parents and Mema were visiting, and it had snowed that morning! You can see in the pictures the tree I picked out (Eli's wearing his little bear suit), my dad & matt carrying it to the truck, and the final product. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

great grandma visit

My mema (mom's mom) came all the way from Quitaque, TX to see Elijah this past weekend. We had a great time picking out the perfect Christmas tree and listening to matt play his guitar. I'm so glad she got to see him while he's still little.

it's all about the tongue

this is what a 3 month old Eli looks like

It's Thanksgiving in Melber

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Matt's parents house. Matt did work at their new house and Elijah ate and slept just like we were at home. The week flew by and we got lots of visiting time with Eli's cousins. And of course no trip to Melber is complete without a trip to Hardee's- Eli's first. We can't wait until Christmas!

tummy time & cousin time

i've been attempting to give eli some tummy time everyday so i don't have to hold his head for him forever. he's actually pretty good at holding his head up already & getting stronger at it everyday.

yesterday eli & i visited aunt diane & cousin aaron. it was the longest car ride yet for eli- 1 1/2 hours. going & coming he slept the first 45 minutes and cried the last 45 minutes. other than the car crying, he was a wonderfully happy baby all day and even took a cat nap in the car with aaron. thanks diane for a wonderful day. can't wait to do it again!

little turkey

Here's the latest pictures of my cutie boy in Mema's "first Thanksgiving" outfit. He wore it on Wednesday to our church's annual Thanksgiving Banquet where everyone ooohhh'd and awwwww'd over his cuteness.
And mommy was quite proud- Eli sat in his car seat and watched us all eat, then Auntie Liv fed him and rocked him to sleep. What a precious boy he was!
