absolute sweetness

What a joy it is to have an almost 16 month old boy! There is something new to explore and learn everyday. Here's some of Eli's newest sweetnessess......

christmas attire at church last sunday
daddy and eli matching pants
first ever "fort"
crawling through the tunnel and surprising daddy
loving on mommy's belly
We look forward to having another little boy to experience new adventures with!

Me again at 5am.

What is it with pregnancy and waking up at 4am? Yes, after laying in bed absolutely uncomfortable for an hour, I decided to just get up. So far I have watched some PBS, read every possibly interesting news story online, and finished off my fettuccine alfredo from dinner two nights ago. No worries though, because here in about 45 minutes I will finally be tired enough to go back to bed- uncomfortable or not. Plus, Matt's on vacation! Which means a nap for me, even if Eli's not also sleeping. :) So I think now I'll go eat some leftover pancakes, and waste the next 45 minutes online. I should be back asleep about the time everyone else is waking up.

christmas at church

We've been busy at church with fun christmas-time activities. This past weekend Matt & I were "Mary & Joseph at the Inn" in the Live Nativity. We had a great time as always, and Eli hated the experience as usual :)
Here we are before going out for our 'shift'.
And this is what we found when we came back after an hour. (Keep in mind that when we left Eli, he was upstairs in the nursery with all the other kids.) He definitely enjoys Mickie's company and eating ice more than a nursery filled with noisy kids. Thanks Mickie!
This was tonight's church adventure -it's always fun with a kid who hates strangers with a passion. Eli's lip was quivering before we ever even got up with santa......so we got a 'family' picture first. I believe Eli is trying to move his shoulder so it's nowhere near santa.
And then of course we forced him to get his own picture with the Jolly Old Guy. Needless to say, the ENTIRE gym knew how Eli felt about his situation.
I believe at this point he was flailing his arms and screaming about as loud as he possibly could while staring at his daddy. When it was over I told Eli he didn't have to see santa again until next year. ;-)
Merry Christmas everyone!

35 weeks

Yup, it's official....I'm THAT pregnant lady. I am up at 5 am surfing the net and eating pumpkin pie out of the pie pan. It's either that or lay in bed wide awake thinking about pumpkin pie :)

Ice

(note: For those who are trying to watch the video, use Internet Explorer or Firefox....don't know why but I can't get it to work with Chrome. Also, when Eli pats his chest, he's saying "please")

fall fun-ness

Here's some of our most recent family activities-

Garrett brought his mommy & daddy to play on Saturday. Here are the two sweetie boys playing together.
Eli lovin' on the kitty in the barn.
Eli and Garrett feeling the hay.
Last week, Matt took Eli outside to play. I looked out the window to this sweet sight.
Eli has a mild obsession with the washer and dryer when they're spinning. On this day I put a hat on him I found in the closet. He wore it around the house while carrying an empty Stax container...oh, and while watching the spinning action.

this is halloween

Here's a post in pictures showing the fun we had at our church's fall carnival last night. Eli was a bee-boy, daddy was Harry Potter, and mommy was a magic-8 ball. Matt helped Eli play all the games that were set up and run by the teens and I took pictures of it all. Unfortunately, I forgot to get a good picture of Eli in his costume with the hood up, so I'll have to get some this week :)

bee-boy and harry (aka daddy) winning a prize from Isaac
matt was trying to explain that the game was to pick up the duck, not play with the water!
the 'toddler zone'- eli walked in, and walked right back out, taking a block with him! maybe he thought it was pollen.
after his first ride, eli actually signed 'please' to ride again!!

pbj (aka. the all american sandwich)

Today for a snack I gave Eli half of a peanut-butter jelly sandwich. This is an important milestone for him, because it's what he's going to be eating for THE REST OF HIS LIFE. I think I ate a pbj everyday for lunch in elementary school, most days in high school, and I'm sure our little E will do the same (especially once he stops rubbing his nasty peanut-buttery/jelly-e hands in his hair and getting sticky everywhere!!!!)

Halloween cards from Gram

Here's the little goo-ball last year at Halloween. I showed him the card he got from Gram & Papa, put him on the chair for some pictures, and he just sat there (well, he would've laid there if he didn't have so much support).

This year I showed him the Halloween card from Gram & Papa. First thing he did was turn it over and over and looked at the picture, then he opened it up and looked inside.
Then he tried to get off the chair.
Then after he got off the chair, he carried the card around and tried to show it to Max.
Thanks for the card Gram & Papa!
