i've been crafty + 2 cute boys

So I've been a little crafty this week. Yesterday I made Eli a pillowcase for the pillow he's been using in his crib. I found this way cute truck/bus fabric at Hancock and thought it would be perfect. I also appliqued his name on the front as you can see.
Here's the almost two-year-old. When I showed him the pillowcase he immediately pointed out the red bus and the blue truck. (I also may have made the shirt he's wearing too, but not this week, like two months ago)
And here's the rest of my craftiness- a floor cushion. I was originally going to ask for a bean bag for Eli's birthday and then thought I could make something instead. I got my inspiration at http://www.livingwithpunks.com/2010/05/tutorial-land-of-nod-inspired-floor.html
But I made my cushion wider and shorter. I made the piping from fabric I had leftover from my nursing wrap and my friend Kim gave me the upholstery fabric for the cushion. It only kind of looks like a dog pillow! Hehehe.
And here we come to the cuteness. Plain and simple.
Both boys HAD to have a ball in their hands during the wagon ride. Isaac of course had to eat his and Eli just wanted to hold it- well and throw it, but I told him mommy wasn't playing chase. :)

what a weekend

Thursday night bedtime: Isaac spent devo time trying to grab Eli's nuzzy or eat the Bible. Eli sat that as if to say "Isaac, this is NOT what you do when daddy reads the Bible."
-----------------------------------------------
Friday night: We took an impromptu trip to Aunt Rachel's where we met up with the Phillips fam. Fun times playing, playing, and more playing until way too late!
Throw in there some lasagna scarfing too...
And a little more playing. Eli was so wound up he didn't sleep the-whole-way-home (1 1/2 hrs).
-----------------------------------------------
Saturday night meant buying daddy some long over due khakis and where better to get them than Old Navy. Who wants to spent $45 at JCPenney...I mean REALLY! Eli walked in the store and straight up to this mannequin and gave her a hug. Petted the dog too then tried to ride him like a horse.
He evidently thought her nose needed picking too.
--------------------------------------------------
Sunday: A visit with our church friends to the most awesome pool ever. And look how NOT crowded it is! Who needs Nashville Shores when you've got Gilley Pool. This mommy may have ridden all the water slides-- a few times. :)

Eli rode the froggy tongue slide. Over and over and over. Then he splashed in the water, then he jumped in the water, then he swam in the water then he........

Sunday night: Two boys with baths and an early bedtime.
Ahhhhhhh.........................

the fort

Two days of playing in the fort (aka: the blanket draped between the chair and ottoman). What fun!
above: eli saying 'cheese'
below: ALL the balls are in the fort

the fort yesterday
Eli loves for Isaac to be in the fort, but doesn't actually want him to touch anything....he's like, "Here brother, come sit, and watch me play, but don't you dare touch anything I have or anything I might want to have. Okay love you."

faces

Bathtub faces: these two little boys love to splash.
Sad face: yes, Eli burned his hand on the grill. He said "Grill, hot" for about 2 hours after it happened. He's fine now, but we doctored and wrapped it before bed so he wouldn't accidentally hit it on the crib while sleeping. Who wants a boy to wake up with a hurting hand: not us!
Smiling face: we bribed eli to say 'cheese'. "Eli if you say cheese you can look at your picture on the camera." It worked, after about 15 tries. :)
Smiling face: Isaac loves to be with people and to be outside. Here is is watching me while I push eli in the swing.
Smiling face: this boy's favorite pastime. S-W-I-N-G-I-N-G
Morning faces: Yes, Isaac wakes up looking that happy. Eli's morning face is about like the rest of us.
Love my boys and they're many faces.
