fun with the cuz.

The boys played, the mommies chatted, and the daddies laid tile. Great weekend in Tullahoma!!
While it looks like they're sleeping in the top picture here, they're actually throwing themselves down on the coolest toy EVER- Uncle Mark's blow-up mattress. So much fun for two little boys.
The fireplace is the perfect sitting place for little legs.
Eli discovered Elmo.
And yes, even in church clothes, the mattress is the BEST!

randomnesses

Eli was so tired after church yesterday he fell asleep mid-push on 2 toys. What a sweetie.
Here's more of my latest gluten free goodness: homemade flour tortillas. They were muy-delicioso!!
And of course the best taste-tester... and we have success!
Here's two new baby things: a winter hat and a homemade softie. The new little boy will look simply scrumptions wearing this hat and loving on his stuffed circle. Aunt Hoolie- I LOVE the inchworm you sent!!!

the zoo in picture

Our first trip to the zoo
This is what Eli did the whole day: touched ropes, and glass, and plants!
And LOVED doing it too
Daddy explaining to Eli all about Meerkats.
Okay, so this was Eli's real favorite part of the day....walking around in front of the aquariums trying to touch the fish.

Luckily this wasn't an escaped snake. And the random lady in the picture explained to us all about what kind of snake it was and why it was good :)
The giraffe exhibit
Matt was such a great daddy, getting Eli out of his stroller to experience all sorts of new things.
All in all it was a good day, although VERY hot!!!!!

3 fall things:

Here's more of my recent gluten free baking: chocolate cookie sandwiches. The recipe said they were homemade Oreo cookies, but they were basically chocolatey goodness with icing filling. I will definitely be making these again, but since I already had the icing left over from Eli's birthday cake, I'll probly leave them as regular cookies.
This photo is celebrating the first fall leaves of the year. While on a recent walk with Eli (see next photo) I spotted a couple of trees that were just starting to hint at turning colors- I found these leaves on the ground nearby. YEAH!!
And lastly, here's the little boy in front of a bush with it's fall time berries.

homemade bread

Here's the result of my first attempt to make from-scratch gluten free bread. I mixed 3 different flours for the four mixture, then the regular stuff you add to make bread. The result was a delicious, moist bread! We had some for dinner last night, and of course I has a slice for breakfast (mmm....cinnamon toast). I'm very pleased with the result and hope to use the same flour mixture for pancakes, muffins, and pizza crust! Here's to saving some moolah!!

mower man (and baby)

Our mower officially went 'kaput' this summer (about 2 1/2 weeks ago actually) so matt has been searching hard for us the best deal out there and yesterday he found it!! This is the mower that he came home with today- here he is giving eli a ride on it around the yard. Thanks sug for getting us such a sweet deal!!

we have a walker

I took these videos yesterday right before we left for worship practice. Eli literally just stood up and started walking toward Max. Of course he won't walk to mommy, he still prefers the crawling method to get to me, but it was SO fun and surprising to see him totter toward the dog!
