children's museum fun

Eli and I went with our church's 'Mommy and Me' group to the Cookeville Children's Museum this morning. We both had a lot of fun playing with all the fun toys they had and visiting with our church friends!

*Eli had his first blibbet in public last night...at wal-mart. For those of you who don't know what a blibbet is, let's just say he came out of the bathroom without ANY clothes on and mommy had to run out to the car for some extras. :-) I'm sure all the women who saw us dressing him in the produce section were remembering their young kids.

eli the sicky

So Matt was up with a crying Eli just about every hour last night. I didn't know about it until early this morning because my super-awesome-husband took care of it all. Eli did have a low grade fever this morning and matt suspected his ear was hurting. So I took Eli to the doctor and sure enough, an ear infection and his fever had risen to just over 102. Eli got some medicine and mommy & daddy got some peace of mind.
Here's the sicky boy post-doctor visit laying with his nuzzy in the recliner watching cartoons. He led me back to his crib and asked for his nuzzy out, then got in the chair and pointed to the TV. What's a mommy to do but say yes! Hope he (and matt) sleep better tonight.

bumbo boy

Here is my sweet almost 2 month old boy sitting in the bumbo today. His head is being propped up by the blanket and of course it helps that he practically has no neck.
Eli absolutely loves his brother. After I snapped this pic Eli proceeded to give Isaac a hug and a kiss on the lips, complete with a 'MWA' sound.

For the record, this is an almost 4 month old Elijah sitting in the bumbo with a blanket. He is the "I don't want to hold my head up on my own" kid. (see link) I guess that's what happens when you actually have a neck!

we love you Webers!

We had a most wonderful time this weekend in St. Louis visiting our dear friends John, Hollie, and Ava!! Ava absolutely LOVED baby Isaac and always wanted to know where he was, what he was doing, and if she could hold him. What a sweet little girl she is! Eli had a great time petting all the doggies and playing with Ava's toys. We love you guys- thanks for a great visit as always!!

brothers and a blanket

Eli asked to hold Isaac in the recliner with the blanket. (he actually asked or signed for all those things!) Oh, then he asked for his water. This is what I got. About 3 minutes of intense brother loving before Eli was all done. I guess he thought Isaac would be cold without the blanket. :)

all in a wednesday

Here's what our Wednesday held....

Eli helped mommy fold some towels today.
Took pictures of the boys with their valentine's cards from gram & poppa. Eli WOULD NOT let me take his picture until he was holding Isaac.
Here he is trying to pull Isaac onto his lap.
When Eli saw his card he said "Whoa!", Isaac smiled at his :)

Eli found a good resting spot to watch a little TV.
The bitty boy decided the kitchen was a better place to take an evening nap than his crib. He slept straight through dinner preparation and the meal!
Loved my Wednesday. I'm sure Thursday will be just as exciting.

YUMMMMMM!!!

So today after lunch I had a mug of homemade hot chocolate.
I got Eli up from his nap, then Isaac woke up too so I had to go and put the baby back to sleep. When I came back in the den I saw my first born son sitting in the recliner gulping the remains of my hot chocolate saying YUMMMMM. Now all the milk was gone, all that was left in the mug was a thick layer of chocolate and sugar, which was now around his mouth and in his tummy. After I took the mug he immediately told me he was 'thirsty'. I told him 'I bet you are after drinking straight chocolate!'

brothers

So today Eli climbed in Isaac's chair to watch TV. It was one of those moments where I go hmmm....should I let him sit in that....hmmmmm....I guess it's okay. He sat up in it for the longest time, switched the vibrate mode on, and flipped the switch so music would play, THEN he laid back to relax. When Eli saw I was done feeding Isaac, he immediately held up his arms so he could do "hobby #3"- hold brother.
Eli LOVED it, Isaac so-so.

hobby #3

You are looking at Eli's 3rd new hobby: holding brother. Twice today he held his hands up to Isaac so he could hold the baby. I'm trying to encourage brotherly love, so of course if he asks, I try to let him. :)
This evening Eli "asked" to sit in the big chair then held his hands up so he could hold the baby. He then proceeded to lean back so we could put Isaac on him; he then talked to him, leaned in to give Isaac a hug, and patted his head. SUPER CUTE!
Also, Isaac started to smile yesterday! When we talk to him or smile at him he looks up at us and smiles!
-------------------------------------------
So tonight Isaac was tired and already swaddled for bed when it was time to eat dinner. Matt put him in his seat (as you can see) where he laid quietly while we ate. About half way thru dinner I said to Matt- wouldn't it be funny if Isaac just drifted off to sleep right here.
Yup, that's what he did!! LOVE having a baby with inner-peace.
