you want me to eat what?

This is Eli's reaction when I mashed up part of a banana and fed it to him. He licked it about three times, let me put some in his mouth, then promptly spit it all back out. I doubt anything was actually swallowed. He was NOT interested- his hand and mommy's milk will do for now!

This is going to be our "family" picture that will go on Elijah's hook in the nursery. Matt & I have been working to make the nursery more organized so we've taken pictures of all the babies & their parents to put up next to each baby's diaper bag hook!
Auntie Livi with Eli at church this Sunday. She babysat him on Friday night and after an hour of crying, he FINALLY fell asleep! We love you Liv.

For some reason, Eli always tries to sit in his Bumbo seat like this: sideways.

He's also started making some lip smacking noises. Here he is mid-smack!

Yesterday when Eli was playing in his bouncy seat he managed to turn the seat around a little to his right. Then he noticed he could look out the window, so instead of playing, he just sat there staring out the window.

winter walk

Yesterday Eli & I took a walk using our front facing stroller for the first time! He had ridden in cousin Aaron's stroller that is like this over Christmas, so yesterday when it was so pretty outside, I cleaned up our stroller (it had been sitting in the garage for 8 months) and we went for a winter walk. Eli seemed to like it MUCH better than the 5-point harness of his car seat and he was able to look around at things as we passed. Hopefully, we'll be able to go again today!

family dinner

last night the three of us sat down together AT THE TABLE for a family dinner. it's the first time we've done this since Eli was born. for the past 4 1/2 months we've either taken turns holding him while the other eats, or laying him between us on the futon while we both eat. but now that Eli can sit in his bumbo seat, hopefully we'll be doing more of this.
(this scene actually only lasted like 5 minutes before Eli started crying & matt had to speed eat so he eli could be fed too.....his visit with aunt rachel on skype made him hungry!!)

snow and shots

our elijah had his 4 month shots and checkup yesterday and he is a healthy boy! he even gave the doctor a few smiles while he was being examined. he cried for a few seconds after his 2nd shot, but recovered as soon as we started getting him dressed. he did cry pretty hard after we got home (his legs were sore), but after some tylenol and a nap, he was just fine. this morning he woke up extremely chipper and happy! eli now weighs 12 lbs 10 oz., and is 27 inches long!!
we also got some snow yesterday and this morning. here's a look from our kitchen window.

need a bandaid

Well, its happened. I made eli bleed while cutting his toenails. He didn't even notice, but I looked down and he was bleeding! Luckily, nurse Priscillsa, aka Grandmommy, was there to administer first aid. She found us a baby sized bandaid, and handled the neosporin application. (by the way, if you can tell in the pictures, its on eli's right big toe)

Eli and Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, celebrating with our Elijah. We visited Papa Tom & Gram in Arkansas, and Granddaddy & Grandmommy in Kentucky. Here are some highlights from our 1 1/2 weeks long trip.
